2025 CHANGES!

I don't do New Year resolutions, because I learned that I constantly have to make changes and recalibrate on a regular on going basis.

Hey, I'm just as full of shit as most people with delusional promises to themselves. I used to announce, next year is going to be HUGE! No it's not, if you're doing it right, it's a steady upwards pace ahead!

Besides getting other films made, my biggest change for 2025 will be making lots more content that is to do with my own story.

I don't mean day to day pointless reality shit. I never really share my personal life, it's all about the work. I mean content that hopefully gives value as I try to build a creative business.

Sharing the transparent ups and downs of trying to be a filmmaker for a living. It's been an expensive time consuming hobby for years, but it's time to take it to the next level.

I also don't just mean just charting the making of my films. Making a film is not a real challenge for me. Making a LIVING and building a CREATIVE BUSINESS is the REAL challenge for me.

I'm not alone, because most DIY indie filmmakers don't make a living from making films. I include myself, as my bills have been paid via corporate gigs for years.

However, I think I see a way through, but not by doing the same approach I have been doing for years. Which I started to change quite recently with the Psycho Sex Dolls franchise.

I want to share the truths and realities of that. Transparent success and failures, as most people really don't share the transparent truths about this business. It's all smoke and mirrors. Get your film on the streamers, submit to film fests, rinse and repeat, and never make a penny! That's not smart!

I'm done with that world. Especially when it doesn't have to be that way if you decide to take control of your own work at every level. It's a terrible business model. You can call yourself an artist, but you will be broke and have a begging cap for the rest of your life with that path.

I won't make a living EVER as a filmmaker via streams and downloads, just like musicians don't earn from streaming music. It's all the other revenue streams you build around your work that will make money.

You can't just be a creative, you have to be an entrepreneur today too. That's the type content I will be sharing. To show how I do, or don't pull it off. We have to start learning from each other, or we're all going to be broke no budget filmmakers. I have no desire to live like that.

I don't just want to be plugging my films anymore. If you tell your OWN story and give VALUE, then your work naturally gets promoted too.

I'll still be plugging my Psycho Dolls film franchise, but I won't be saturating my David Wilde social channels with Psycho Sex Dolls posts.
